Vintage 2021. The story of the Benvenuti winery is a story of family, tradition, and terroir. Situated in the quiet Istrian village of Kaldir, overlooking Motovun, where three grape varieties grow – Malvasia Istriana, Teran and Muscat. This wine comprised of the most significant Istrian red varieties comes from the vineyards of Španjola, located 300 meters above sea level. The goal of Benvenuti family was to produce high-quality wines and create a recognizable brand from three indigenous Istrian varieties: Istrian Malvasia, Teran, and Muscat. Caldierosso 2013 (Caldir = Kaldir, where Benvenuti live; rosso = red), a novelty of the Benvenuti house.

Caldierosso’s first edition has already won a gold medal at this year’s Vinistra and silver medal on Decanter 2017, therefore it has already shown it is truly an exceptional wine.
