The Budinščak family’s long-standing family tradition of winemaking and cellaring began more than two hundred years ago. In many respects, the Budinščak house inherits the tradition of the now almost forgotten, old Plešivica, whose beginnings affirmed St. Jana as a prominent appellation. Hundred-year-old barrels of large volumes are still used today in the production of authentic Plešivica wines, i.e. – St. Jana

Sylvaner is medium-bodied with well spread freshness and a distinctive, floral aroma enveloped in soft texture. The wine often has flavors of green apple, pear, citrus, with subtle mineral notes and a dry finish. It goes best with poultry and also freshwater fish, but can handle very well the heavier dishes, pork, lamb, various roasts, so it is ideal for enjoying at longer celebrations. Nevertheless it is easy to drink and gentle on the palate.
