Veralda winery is owned by the family Visintin of Verteneglio, Istria. Winery is named after the territory on which vineyards and wine estate are located. Their wines come from grapes grown on the sunny hills of Buje. Veralda philosophy is focused on valorizing and respecting the unique characteristics of Istria’s indigenous varietals of grapes and olives. The method of producing wine and olive oil at Veralda is based on maintaining a constant level of superior quality, as the owners of this winery believe that this is the only proper way to ensure survival on the demanding world market. Veralda family winery is one of the largest wineries in Istria, with 33 hectares of vineyards and 5 hectares of olive orchards, producing top quality, grand cru wines and some of the highest quality olive oil in our region. What makes Veralda unique is innovation through hard work and research.

Istrian is made from an indigenous Istrian variety, the Refosco. It’s color is intense and deep red with violet hints. On nose it shows very strong expression and character with smell reminiscent of raspberries in combination with tobacco leaves and touch of dark chocolate. On the plate, full bodied, complex with optimal expression of round and velvety tannins with juicy finish. Serve at a temperature of 20° C.
